| Back
when he was a toddler, Tim Mahoney would grab his mother's guitar and start
singing "Hound Dog", pretending he was Elvis Presley. "When I was
little I always told my mom, "I want to be like Elvis." I don't know
if it was always that conscious, but I think music was something that was
always in me."
That
it is. With his newly minted fourth release, 3 Different Views, Minneapolis
singer, songwriter and guitarist Mahoney again shows just how far he's
come in turning an unconscious childhood passion into consummate artistry.
On 3 Different Views, Mahoney offers up a dozen tracks rich in craft
and texture, all drawn from deeply personal sources but composed to offer
universal insight.
"I
think after being in this for awhile, not only writing a lot of songs but
also having more experiences and - I never thought I'd say this - getting
older, I know more," Mahoney notes. "I feel like I'm able to think
of things more clearly and to capture that in a lyric." |
