Jefferson Grad, Winona State University B.A. Grad, Eagle Scout. Bought
his first turntable (A Gemini piece of skipping ass) during his freshman
year at college. This finally happened after 5 years of watching "Juice"
on VHS at least twice a month. Started out with a deep desire to be a turntablist,
and battle local cats with his own style of vinyl manipulation. Too passionate
about the art, DJ Mad Mardigan put his school work aside at times to practice
and practice and practice... All through college he competed in local &
regional DJ battles, and spun at numerous house parties, weddings, nightclubs,
and underground dance parties. He honed his skills as each month passed,
and eventually was able to buy the coveted tools -- Technic 1200 turntables
and a Rane TTM56 Scratch Mixer... It was on. *After graduating from college,
he began working in the corporate environment. He learned some valuable
things in that world, including the fact that he has no desire to be a
part of it. This became even more obvious when his younger brother passed
away in a tragic car accident in Dec. of 2004. He decided to risk it all--
quit his job, and become a full-time DJ. Fast forward to present day, and
he's still at it-- playing many nightly gigs throughout the Twin Cities.
Staying true to his roots, DJ Mad Mardigan prides himself on being one
of the only hard-core party-rocking turntablists in the area. |
